![]() Marble once again took center stage in 2014 when celebrated architect Peter Marino employed the material during the boutique’s refurbishment for Bulgari’s 130th Anniversary. This affinity dates back almost a century when in 1934, renowned architect Florestano Di Fausto incorporated marble into the renovation of Bulgari’s flagship boutique in Rome’s Via dei Condotti. The irregular patterns surrounding the marble watch only reinstate the way Bulgari has maintained the natural properties of the raw material.īulgari, deeply rooted in the Roman tradition, embraces the use of marble as a reflection of its heritage. The veins of the green marble, embodying white lines, tap into the snow-capped Alpine forests on the flanks of the Valle d’Aosta. Its deep shade recalls the dominant color in nature, exuding a sense of abundance, growth, and energy. The carved green marble of the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon timepiece, named Verde Alpi, comes from the Aosta Valley, the natural passage between the Alps of Switzerland and Italy. The Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon watch makes its entrance to the 2023 edition of Only Watch as a one-off, limited edition piece. ![]() To finish off the presentation, Bulgari has also created a custom box with a marble finish dedicated to the watch. The back of the timepiece’s case has a sapphire crystal and reveals the slim BVL 268 caliber movement. The dial is created with a thin marble wafer and indices, and it features an exposed tourbillon at 6 o’clock. It took the artisans about 190 hours to complete it since each slice of bracelet link is made of marble. The bracelet of the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon watch was the most delicate part. The marble had to be carefully machined, smoothed, and polished by hand before being applied. The Octo Finissimo Tourbillon timepiece has a case with 110 facets, covered in a thin layer of marble. ![]() This is the first time that Bulgari has produced a watch almost entirely made of marble. The finale of the reboot brings all the past Bens from the classic timeline together to face a dimension-hopping villain. In addition to including more aliens, the previously explored aliens were also given new forms thanks to armors, enhancements, and amalgamations. Many aspects from all 4 of the previous seasons were worked into the reboot, including several Aliens from the later seasons being available within the first season of the reboot. This show reset the idea of the original series where Ben, Gwen, and Grandpa Max travel across America on a road trip. The Ben 10 rebooted series ran from 2016 to 2021. Joining them is the villain-turned-hero from the original series Kevin Levin, an alien tech dealer who can absorb any material akin to Absorbing Man. ![]() Set 5 years after the events of the original series, the now-teenaged Ben and Gwen Tennyson return to action after Grandpa Max goes missing. This series featured a crossover with The Secret Saturdays, confirming that both series exist in the same universe. Unlike the previous series, Omniverse had a completely different aesthetic style thanks to the art team's direct involvement with story meetings and the art being hand-drawn, save for some CGI elements. Omniverse includes two versions of Ben, one 11 and another 16 years old, each with alternating split storylines. Portrayed as a buddy-cop series, the pair tackle crime and bad influences in a secret alien city known as Undertown. When Gwen and Kevin head off for college, Ben goes off on his own set of adventures alongside his Plumber-In-Training partner Rook.

![]() The Fork is to restaurant booking as the takeaway apps are to, well, takeaways – they centralise all the different options (if you live in London or another big city, these number literally in the thousands) and allow you to sort them by cuisine or any one of a number of other categories, and then book them for yourself. In other words, that dish you keep seeing on your friends’ Insta stories? This will (hopefully) give you the tools to make it. These are literally pulled from both those social networks, but they have written methodologies beside them, too. The catch, of course, is that you have to be at the right place at the right time to pick up the day’s surplus sandwiches and sundries, and you’re restricted to what hasn’t sold during opening hours. Too Good To Go is almost too good to believe: an app that will set you up with end-of-day cut-price deals or even, if you’re lucky, free food from restaurants and cafes. The studio has tried to strike a balance, modernising where sensible without compromising the spirit of the original System Shock. As soon as you could move around and explore in the ways that you can with any other modern game, that really started to pique our interest.” “The whole project started because we had been working with a moderator on the forums, who implemented a mouse look feature for the original game. You actually have to drag the mouse around the viewport. That’s your first insight into what you’re getting into. They can’t figure out the controls.” Kick speaks directly from experience: “I went into thinking I could move the mouse to look around. “It’s not uncommon to talk to people who played System Shock 2 but have never touched the first one. The original System Shock is a significant landmark in game design: released in 1994, just a year after Doom, it was conceived as a more cerebral alternative, challenging players with taking down a malevolent AI on a space station where they could explore freely while scavenging for resources, unearthing clues in messages recorded by the deceased crew, and fighting twisted cyborgs on autonomous patrol around the station.īut as Kick explains, System Shock’s sequel is the one that broke through: people aren’t so familiar with the original, because it is harder to grapple with. System Shock is Nightdive’s most ambitious project, a ground-up remake designed to give players the same feeling that Kick experienced in the 90s. In 2012, Kick negotiated the rights to System Shock 2, rescuing it from legal limbo, and it became the first release in Nightdive’s now-thriving business of resuscitating old games. System Shock 2, launched in 1999, is one of Kick’s most treasured childhood games and the whole reason Nightdive was founded. Making System Shock more accessible is the main goal of this remake. It is one of the reasons for the studio’s existence. For Kick and Nightdive, System Shock is more than just money-spinning digital necromancy. Even though video game remakes are enormously popular, as demonstrated by the success of this year’s reimagining of Resident Evil 4, spending eight years rebuilding another studio’s game is a considerable commitment. ![]() Happily for Nightdive Studios, when System Shock was released this week, it became an instant top seller – and critics liked it, too. ![]() “Because it took so long … financially, it was the most expensive project that we’ve ever done.” “We don’t yet know how this is going to be received,” he says.
